Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 6, 2026 The Cyber Yak Studios, LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates www.thecyberyak.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. Who we are The Cyber Yak Studios, LLC PO Box 28, Maysville, GA 30558, USA Privacy contact: Jonathan Orellana, TheCyberYakTeam@thecyberyak.com What we collect Visits to the Site. When you view a page, we record the page, the site you came from (without any query string), your device type, the time, and a one-way code derived from your connection and browser details. The code changes every day, so we can count visits to improve the Site but cannot follow you from one day to the next. We do not store your IP address in this record. Steam link clicks. When you click a link to our game on Steam, we record that click with the same daily one-way code, the page it happened on, and the time. Steam is run by Valve and has its own privacy policy. Polls. To vote in a poll we ask for your email address, so that each person votes once. We turn it into a one-way code and do not keep the email itself unless you tick the box saying it is okay to contact you. We also keep your answer and any text you write in. If you tick the box, we keep your email and may email you about your vote or future updates. Orders. Our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment details, name, email, billing and shipping address. We receive and keep your email address, the order total, currency, payment status and payment method. We do not see or store your full card number. We currently ship only to the United States and Canada. Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical logs of requests to the Site, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We also use short-lived counters in memory that count requests per IP address to block abuse. These counters are not saved. Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply. Cookies and local storage. We do not set cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps your shopping cart on your device. See our Cookie Policy. We do not knowingly collect information about you from other sources. Why we use it - To process and ship your order, and to keep the records the law requires: this is needed to perform our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations. - To count visits and clicks so we can improve the Site, and to keep the Site secure and free of abuse: this is our legitimate interest. - To contact you about a poll or updates when you ticked the box: this is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the “Remove my email” form on the poll page, or by emailing us. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your page views or Steam link clicks. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking. Who we share it with We use these service providers to run the Site. They may process your information only on our behalf. - Google Cloud (hosting, database, secret storage, logs and email). - Stripe (payments, tax calculation and receipts). We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others. Links to other websites, including Steam, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies. If you come to us from our Instagram or Facebook shop, Meta's privacy policy covers what you did there. Where your information is processed Our systems run in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States. How long we keep it - Visit and Steam click records: deleted after 12 months. They cannot be used to identify you. - Poll responses: if you allowed us to contact you, we keep your email until you remove it with the form on the poll page, or for 12 months at most. The one-way code made from your email is also removed after 12 months. The anonymous tally stays. - Orders: 7 years, to meet tax and accounting requirements. Stripe also keeps its own payment records under its own policies. - Server logs: kept by Google Cloud for 30 days. - Backups: when we delete something, it can remain in our encrypted database backups for up to 7 more days. - Emails you send us: until we no longer need them to help you, or you ask us to delete them. Your rights You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy, limit how we use it, or stop using it. If we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. For polls, use the “Remove my email” form on the poll page. For anything else, email TheCyberYakTeam@thecyberyak.com. We will answer within 30 days. For poll or order records we will ask you to confirm the email address you used. Visit and click records cannot be linked to you, and they are deleted after 12 months, so there is nothing for us to look up or return. US state privacy rights If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you may have the right to: - know what personal information we collect, why, where it came from, and who receives it; - ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it; - opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, and of targeted advertising.
